Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines is fighting back against new Department of Transportation advertising rules that require airlines to include mandatory taxes and fees in all advertised fare quotations. The airline has founded a website keepmyfareslow.org, claiming that the government is attempting to hide taxes within the price of an airplane ticket.

FARGO, ND Hector International Airport in Fargo and Grand Forks International Airport soon will receive new scanners to screen passengers.

Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Carrie Harmon tells KFGO that the units are able to detect both metallic and nonmetallic objects under passengers clothing using millimeter wave technology. This is not the same technology thats led to privacy concerns elsewhere.

Harmon says training for the machines is currently underway and they should be in place in Fargo in a few weeks.

Two committees of the Louisiana Legislature will embark this week on their annual road show to get input from the public on highway construction. Warren Clifford walked circles around the new 2012 GMC Yukon with his three children at the Houston Auto Show on Saturday.

He checked out the features on the dashboard while the kids climbed into the backseat.

Clifford, 42, said hes in the market for a more economical family vehicle. The Yukon and the Chevy Tahoe piqued his interest, but said he wanted to see what electric cars have to offer.
